Why Tottenham have been ‘frustrated’ by some reports coming out about Ange Postecoglou
Tottenham Hotspur are having a really strange season so far.
Tottenham sit tenth in the Prem✨ier League, but they’ve shown ☂at times this term that they are so much better than that.
Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
10 | 11 | 5 | 1 | 5 | 23 | 13 | 10 | 16 |
Indeed, Spurs have thrashed the likes of Man🧔chester United and Aston Villa this season, but they’ve struggled against tea𝔍ms such as Crystal Palace and Ipswich.
Inevitably, Ange Postecoglou has been questioned after this up-and-down start to the season, but Spurs continue to back Postecoglou behind the scenes.
Speaking on The Spurs Chat Podcast, Tom Barclay has been discussing Postecoglou and just how secure his job is.

Tottenham frustrated by Ange Postecoglou reports
Ba🉐rclay shared what he’s heard from Spurs about some recent reports about Postecoglou.
According to the journalist, Spurs are very much behind the gaffer, so much so that they’re even getting frustrated about any reports about Postecoglou’s future being secure as they believe it’s🧜 ꦫnot even a talking point worth discussing.
“At this point, as far as I’m aware, ꦯthey seem to be ve🌌ry much behind him,” Barclay said.
“So much that there was a story a few weeks ago about how he had the confidence of the board and that kind of thing, and what I heard was that they were frustrated tha🦹t was even a story because as soon as there are stories written in that way, that normally means that the manager is on shaky ground, ev🐈en if they’re not.”
“I think we📖’re a long way o⭕ff anything dramatic happening.”
Postecoglou compared to past Tottenham managers
It is interesting to hear that Tottenham are so vehemently behind Postecoglou at the moment, b𒀰ecause his record suggests that he should be under pressure.
Indeed, when y🍸ou compare Postecglou to some of his predecessors, the stats don’t look pretty.
Tottenham managers | Games | Wins | Draws | Losses | Win percentage | League position when sacked |
Ange Postecoglou | 58 | 31 | 7 | 20 | 53% | 10th* |
Antonio Conte | 76 | 41 | 12 | 23 | 54% | 4th |
Nuno Espirito Santo | 17 | 9 | 1 | 7 | 53% | 9th |
Jose Mourinho | 86 | 45 | 17 | 24 | 52% | 7th |
Mauricio Pochettino | 293 | 160 | 60 | 73 | 55% | 14th |
Tim Sherwood | 28 | 14 | 4 | 10 | 50% | 6th |
Andre Villas-Boas | 80 | 45 | 18 | 17 | 56% | 7th |
Harry Redknapp | 198 | 98 | 48 | 52 | 49% | 4th |
Of course, Postecoglou inheritedඣ a squad that was a bit of a mess after the sale of Harry Kane, but he’s been backed with big signings over the past 18 months, and he still has Spurs in mid-table.
A t𝕴rip to Manchester City this weekend looks ominous, and Spurs could easily be in the bottom-half come the end of this gameweek.
Postecoglou, for some reason, doesn’t seem to be under any pressure right now, but based on past decisio🐟ns, the heat may soon be turned up on the Australian as the pressure to pick up results only grows.
