‘Why on earth would we?’… Journalist says Liverpool have told him £35m player definitely isn’t signing now

Liverpool’s transfer business is always very well thought out.

Indeed, the Reds aren’t a team for panic buys, they sign quality pไlayers who suit their needs at any given moment.

As we all know, Liverpool have a bit of an injury crisis at the moment at left-back, and that has led to some spe♏culation about signing a new player in that position.

One man who has been linked as of late is Antonee Robinson, but acc🃏ording to James Pearce, speaking on 🐎the , there’s nothing to this rumour.

Pearce says he’s been told by Liverpool that Robinson isn’t a target at the moment as they know that Andrew Robertson will be back in just a few weeks’ time.

Robinson not a target

Pearce shared what he knows about the player.

“It’𒉰s like the defensive issue at the minute, people I’ve spoken to recently, Liverpool were linked with Robinson the full-back at Fulham, and when you check that out you’re told ‘why on earth would we sign another left-back when hopefully Robertson will be b♕ack by the end of January.’ You can’t just stockpile left-backs, you have Tsimikas to return at the end of February or maybe March time,” Pearce said.

Not needed

Liverpool are making the right💜 decision in not goi🍌ng for Robinson at the moment.

Now, that isn’t to say that the USA international isn’t a quality player,🤡 but he’s really not what the Reds need.

Andrew Robertson꧅ will be back in꧂ just a few weeks’ time, and Kostas Tsimikas won’t be far behind him.

If Robinson came i🃏nto Liverpool, he’d quickly slip down to second or even third in the pecking order, and the Reds would be wasting money on a signing who’d only really have a use case of a few weeks.

Robinson is good enough to get a big move, but heading to Anfield right ๊now isn’t the next step in his career.
