Whether Arsenal target Matheus Cunha will have a release clause in his new Wolves contract

Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are all among the clubs interested in Wolves star Matheus Cunha.

The Brazilian has been one of the standout players in the Premier League this ♎season, even though he plays for a team that has m🍌ostly struggled.

Cunha has directly contributed to 14 goals in 19 league games so far, whic♑h is a fantastic return. That෴ is why he is admired by many top clubs in the country.

But, there is some bad news for all the interested clubs – TBR Football confirmed over the weekend that Cunha is about to sign a new contract at Wolves.

David Ornstein shares whether Matheus Cunha’s new Wolves contract has a release clause

TBR revealed just after Christmas that Cunh🎶a is a target for Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liver♎pool and Newcastle United.

Tottenham Hotspur are admirers of Cunha as well and w♎ere ready to hold t𒉰alks with his agents over a move in this window.

However, Wolves have reached the final stages of extending his 🍒contract, which means he is definitely not going anywhere before the February 3rd deadline.

David Ornstein h🐟as had his say on 🦩Cunha’s situation, and he has confirmed that the offer on the table is a four-and-a-half-year deal with an option to extend that by another 12 months.

The journalist then claimed that a release clause has been discussed in case Wolves 𓆏get relegated, which is a ‘moot point’ because he will definitely le♒ave if they go down.

But, if they stay up, there’s no c🐼hance of any clause being included in the contract.

Ornstein said on🥃 : “They are on the verge of signing Matheus Cunha to a new contract, whic෴h would come as a massive boost to everyone at Molineux. The deal that is proposed is four and a half years with the option of a further 12 months.

“There is a conversation about a relegati🍒on release clause. But, if they were to get relegated, he would leave anyway, so I think that’s largely 💟a moot point.

“If 𓆏they were to stay in the Premier League, there will be no release clause in this new dea♛l, Wolves don’t offer those.

“He’s a top player. He has got💞 interest from Arsenal and others in the so-ca🏅lled top six.”

What Matheus Cunha’s new contract means for Arsenal and his other suitors

Arsenal could’ve done with a 🍷player like Cunha in this transfer window.

The Gunners are short of options in attack following injuries to the likes of Bukayo Saka, Raheem Sterꩵling and Ethan Nwaneri. Cunha would’ve been a great option.

However, the Brazilian’s new contract at W✱olves rules out a move in this window, and Arsenal and other clubs will have to wait at ⭕least until the summer.

Even then, Wolves will likely demand a fortune for Cunha, who they paid £44 million to sign. The fact that there will not be a re𒐪lease clause means clubs will have to meet the Wanderers’ꦚ demands to get him.

It will be interesting to see what will happen next summer – we think there will be plenty of interest i🧸n Cunha even then.
