What was ‘very strange’ about Tottenham’s announcement post of Wilson Odobert after he signs from Burnley
Tottenham made a signing from out of nowhere on Friday morning as Wilson Odobert joined from Burnley.
Sp🐷urs announced the signing of Odob𓂃ert out of the blue on Friday, but this was a rather strange announcement.
Indeed, while Spurs announced the signings of Dominic Solanke and Archie Gray with elaborate videos and meღdia packages, Odobert was a more low-key old-school announcement.
Speaking on The Spurs Chat Podcast, The Mail’s Josh Hughes has been discussing Tottenham’s signing of Odobert.
The journal♔ist says that he found Tottenham’s announcement strange, claimiꦇng that the phrasing of ‘subject to formalities’ is something he hasn’t seen for a long time.

Tottenham’s strange Wilson Odobert announcement
Hughes spoke 🧔about how Tottenham announced this deal.
“One thing I would say, and we spoke about this off air. They say ‘subject to formalities.’ That is a ver❀y strange use of words,” Hughes said.
“That is the first time in a long time I’ve s💫een Spurs doing a post about a deal for a player subject to formalities and not holding up the shirt with an announcement video. The whole ♍thing is very strange.”
“You’d think considering that he’s passed a medical they would’ve put something together. However, yesterday was the media access day at Spurs and all of th🐽e focus was on getting ready for Leicester. So maybe it was just a case of ಌthis happening quickly, the whole thing is just mad isn’t it?”

Tottenham needed to rush Odobert signing
Tottenham’s🌄 announcement of this sign🅰ing was rather strange, but there may be a good reason for that.
As Hughes says, Spurs’ media team was tied up y👍esterday, and this announcement needed 𒉰to be done quickly.
Indeed, this Friday was something of a mini-deadline day as new signings needed to be done before 12PM if they were to ♒be involved in this weekend’s games.
Tottenham announced Odobert’s arrival at 10:30, and 𝓀that means that the Frenchman is now able to play against Leicester on Monday should Ange Postecoglou wish to use him.
