What Virgil van Dijk told Gary Neville he might do if Liverpool won another Premier League title during 2022 interview
Virgil van Dijk is closing in on his second Premier League title at Liverpool.
The Netherlands international scored in the 89th minute to secure Liverpool a 2-1 win over West Ham on Sunday, which inches the Reds ever closer to the Premier League title after Arsenal could only draw 1-1 against Brentford on Saturday.

Van Dijk – who is close to signing a new contract like Mohamed Salah – has, however, never lifted the Premier League title in front of supporters at Anfield, due to the global pandemic when Liverpool last won the league in 2020.
That is surely about to change, as Liverpool sit 13 points clear with just six games to go.
Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |

2 | 32 | 17 | 12 | 3 | 57 | 27 | 30 | 63 | |

As Arne Slot nears the title in his debut campaign, it is worth taking a look at what Virgil van Dijk said to Gary Neville during a chat on The Overlap back in November 2022.
What Virgil van Dijk told Gary Neville he might do if Liverpool won another Premier League title
When asked by the 50-year-old to reveal a secret nobody knows about him, the Dutchman said he lets his typically slicked back hair loose when indoors at home.
Neville then pushed Van Dijk to show him, with the defender responding: “No no no, I can’t. Maybe when we win another Champions League or Premier League.”
The latter is on the brink of happening, so Liverpool fans should prepare to see the 33-year-old rocking a different look on the pitch during title celebrations, if he keeps his word.
Van Dijk would not be the only Premier League star to quite literally let his hair down due to the excitement of a Premier League title – Erling Haaland memorably let loose after scoring to down Arsenal in 2023 and nudge Manchester City closer towards the league.

How Gary Neville reacted after hearing Virgil van Dijk is set to sign new contract
The Sky Sports pundit made a bold claim about the Liverpool No.4 after hearing about his imminent contract extension, putting him above both Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold in terms of importance.
Neville hailed Van Dijk, saying: “That’s great news for Liverpool. I think he’s the most important out of the three. The goalkeeper and him are the bedrock of what they have achieved this season.”
The man from Breda is certainly a colossus for Liverpool, and despite the fact he turns 34 in July, he seems to be performing as well as he ever has for the Reds, which is a great sign.
