What Virgil van Dijk immediately told Trent Alexander-Arnold to do after Liverpool’s 1-0 win vs Leicester City

Virgil van Dijk and his Liverpool teammates looked visibly delighted for Trent Alexander-Arnold after he fired in the Reds’ winning goal in their 1-0 victory against Leicester City.

The Liverpool right-back made his much-awaited return from his injury as an impact substitute for Conor Bradley during the contest.

With Alexander-Arnold set to join Real Madrid, all eyes were on how the Reds supporters would embrace his introduction on to the pitch.

After all, Jamie Carragher noticed Liverpool fans turned on Alexander-Arnold after his disappointing display against Manchester United earlier this year where it looked like his focus was on Los Blancos.

But Trent Alexander-Arnold scored an absolute screamer past Mads Hermansen to win Liverpool the contest against Leicester and wheeled away in celebration alongside Van Dijk and his teammates.

Virgil van Dijk told Trent Alexander-Arnold to celebrate with Liverpool fans after Leicester win

With Virgil van Dijk signing a new contract as well as Mohamed Salah, Liverpool fans continue to adore them while Alexander-Arnold’s status seems to be a touchy subject but his goal against Leicester must have led Reds supporters worldwide to fall in love with him once again.

Alexander-Arnold’s strike against Leicester now means Liverpool skipper Van Dijk is one win away from becoming the first Dutch captain to lead a Premier League club to a title.

After Arne Slot’s side defeated the Foxes, journalist Lewis Jones noticed that the former Southampton centre-back pushed his teammate to celebrate with the visiting fans.

“Alexander-Arnold is pushed towards the Liverpool fans by Van Dijk to lap up the atmosphere. He is all smiles.”

The Englishman was smiling from ear to ear while being embraced by the supporters.

What Trent Alexander-Arnold said about Liverpool fans after win vs Leicester City

After Liverpool’s win against Leicester, Alexander-Arnold paid tribute to the fans as Van Dijk pushed him to celebrate with them in the aftermath of the contest.

The Champions League winner told Sky Sports: “[Van Dijk] pushed me to the front to soak it in to get close and personal – the away fans are amazing. They’ve pushed us every game. They helped us win the game. As much as we do it for ourselves and our families we do it for the fans. They’re the ones that spend the money and travel to games, it’s the least they deserve. To be so close to winning a league title – a first one in front of fans which what were missing is very special.”
