Nico Gonzalez was spotted having a rather in-depth discussion with Pep Guardiola after he was brought off in Manchester City’s win at Tottenham.

Gonzalez played a key role in Guardiola’s midfield as the champions recorded back-to-back wins in the Premier League at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

ꩲCity managed to nullify any real threatening moments from the hosts with their backline and the Spaniard in the middle of the park dominating Totteham’s three attackers.

🐭After 74 minutes, Guardiola subbed off Gonzalez for Bernardo Silva in a rather attacking change which the midfielder was left questioning.

Nico Gonzalez questions why Pep Guardiola subbed him off vs Tottenham

Nico Gonzalez was spotted having a lengthy chat with Pep Guardiola♈ as he asked the boss why he subbed him off against Tottenham.

In return, the Manchester City😼 manager provided him with a rather detailed explanation as to why he hooked him despite the game still being quite tight.

𝓡Manchester City journalist Joe Bray noticed the incident and also the 24-year-old throughout the match making his feelings very clear.

🍰Gonzalez’s presence in the midfield looks to have been a very solid addition for Guardiola’s side who have missed such steel in the middle of the park.

ꦉGuardiola has suggested that there was no issue with Gonzalez questioning why he was subbed off and he was happy to explain to him why.

♉The Spanish coach revealed it was a tactical substitution as there were times Gonzalez was getting caught slightly high up the pitch.

ꦿSpeaking after the win, Guardiola told the media: “It was an action that he should be more in a position and he jumped [forward] and he should not have done it. It was a tactical reason.

💝“Of course, in that age, if he complains to the manager then it’s a big problem, but it wasn’t the case…”
