What Newcastle fans were heard singing at Aston Villa supporters towards end of 3-0 Boxing Day win
Newcastle United made it four wins in a row in all competitions with their 3-0 Premier League win over Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
The Magpies have now scored 19 goals in December and 14 in their last four games as they put Unai Emery’s Villans to the sword at St James’ Park.
Anthony Gordon put Newcastle ahead in just the second minute against Aston Villa before Alexander Isak doubled the Magpies’ lead just before the hour.
Joelinton then wrapped up an emphatic win for Newcastle with an injury-time effort against the Villans, who lost Jhon Duran to a red card in the first half.
There was drama from the beginning as Villa won the toss and opted to switch Newcastle around, which led to boos from the home faithful.

Tempers flared after Duran’s red card in the 32nd minute, with Emery and Jason Tindall squaring up in the technical area.
Things erupted at half-time with Tindall and Villa analyst Victor Manas shown a red card amid what described as a ’20-man tunnel brawl’.
The Tyneside outlet also spoke about what Newcastle fans were heard singing to Duran after his sending-off, how they supported Tindall, and what they sang towards Villa fans late on.

Newcastle fans taunt Aston Villa fans in heated Premier League clash
noted how Duran lost his cool after being sent off as Newcastle fans mocked the Villa forward.
He ‘lashed out and booted a water bottle on to the pitch in frustration before making his way down the tunnel to a chorus of ‘Who are ya?’ from Geordies.’
When Newcastle confirmed that Tindall wouldn’t be coming out for the second half, ‘the Gallowgate even broke into a rendition of ‘Last Christmas’ as they sang about giving their heart to the assistant.’
And while Villa fans sang ‘is this a library?’ after Gordon’s opener, Newcastle fans ‘were breaking into a rendition of ‘You laughed at us when we went down, but who is laughing now?’.
This was in reference to when the Magpies suffered relegation from the Premier League in wake of their game at Villa Park in 2009.
The report added that ‘by the closing stages, Newcastle fans were crowing: “Aston Villa – it’s happening again!”‘
What Howe said about half-time drama
Howe said after the game: “I don’t think it’s far off [a mass melee]. These things always start, and there was no intention of it happening the way it did.
“It was probably 17 or 18 people trying to calm it down. But it looks like there are more people involved. Nobody wants to see that. It’s not at all how I want my players or staff to be.
“But sometimes you have to stand up to what you think is right and protect each other.
“I am not 100 percent of that (what started it) because it goes over in a blur. I was right at the top of it, but I think it was frustrations spilling out from the first half.”
When asked about the Newcastle players getting involved, Howe said: “I don’t know the players’ side of it because I was standing right at the top so I did not see what happened behind me.
“But of course, we were all standing up each other and protecting ourselves… I don’t think we can go into details (on a Tindall confrontation) you can draw your conclusions on that.”
