Talks continue between Manchester United and Lecce for Patrick Dorgu

Lecce have rejected Manchester United’s second offer for Dorgu, sources have confirmed to TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey, but talks continue between the two sides.

As TBR Football🍨 revealed on Friday, United tabled a new offer for Dorgu worth £27million (€33million) after having their opening offer of £22million turned down earlier in the week.

💯Lecce have insisted all January that they wanted £33million for Dorgu and they would not relent on that figure.

𝕴Man United remain eager to strike a deal and talks continue between the two clubs.

As TBR Football revealed, ♔Dorgu himself has already agreed personal terms with Man United and is eager to move to Old Trafford.

💝United boss Ruben Amorim has made it clear to the club’s hierarchy that addressing the imbalance on the left of his team was a priority, hence the move for Dorgu.

What Patrick Dorgu can bring to Manchester United

🍃At just 20 years of age, Dorgu has already made 56 appearances for Serie A side Lecce, along with winning four caps for Denmark.

🦩Scouting outlet has described Dorgu as a ‘physically imposing defender who’s capable of bombing up and down the left flank, dribbling past his opponent and whipping in a teasing cross, as well as reading the game and snuffing out danger.’

🙈Meanwhile, analyst Ben Mattinson said on X last year that he believes Dorgu is “one of the best young profiles out there for LB” and is set to go far.

There have been comparisons between Dorgu and Destiny Udogie💦, another brilliant young full-back who made a name for himself in Italian football.

🌊Udogie is currently plying his trade in the Premier League, and Man United will hope Dorgu follows suit in swapping Italy for England.
