What Joe Rodon asked Heung-Min Son to do with Archie Gray at Tottenham this season

Tottenham made a point of signing a number of young players in the summer.

Tottenhamꦆ spent big money bolstering their squad with fresh young talent, and, as ever, when you sign these young players, it can sometimes be difficult to help them settle.

Indeed, moving to a huge club as a teenager can be a daunting task, but Spurs have done all they can to help Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Wilson Odobert settle.

Gray has earned praise✱ at Tottenham this season, and he seems to have settled the best of the three young players.

Speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Alasdair Gold has been discussing Gray’s debut season at Spurs, and he says that Heung-Min Son has been mentoring Gray this term.

Heung-Min Son is mentoring Archie Gray

ജGold shared what he knows about the man and his role with Gray.

♎The journalist says Son was tasked with mentoring Gray by Joe Rodon before the start of the season and he’s stepped up in that role.

꧅“And I think what is notable with, like, Archie Gray, when you see all the content spurs post on social media, a lot of the times he’s with Son, Daveis, Fraser Foster, these experienced heads. And I think that’s good for him as well. I think that helps him in learning off them,” Rob Guest said.

🎐“But yeah, I think they do need a bit more experience in there, and that will really help the youngsters in the process.”

🌠“Yes, it’s really interesting you say that. I noticed that in the preseason tour, he was hanging around with those guys a lot. I think there’d been a case of Joe Roden had asked Sonny to look after him,” Gold said.

ꦚ“I think that was what I’d been told. And you can definitely see that. And yes, spot on.”

What Archie Gray has said about Heung-Min Son

👍Gold says that Son has been tasked with looking after Gray, and, by the sounds of it, he’s really taken to this role.

Indeed, Gray himself has praised Son for his mentorship this season.

ও“Son has been helping us, helping us with everything, especially us two (himself and Bergvall). He’s always looking after the squad. Everyone knows he is a great role model, he’s such a nice guy and always nice to everyone. Someone like that in the squad is priceless, for him to be captain is amazing. I can’t thank him enough,” Gray said.

🅷Tottenham are building for the future at the moment, and Gray is seen has having huge potential.

﷽Of course, a player can only reach their potential if they’re in the right environment, and while things aren’t going too well for Tottenham on the pitch right now, Son is helping Gray settle behind the scenes.

🐻Fingers crossed Gray can continue to develop and grow in the coming years and become a superstar at Tottenham.
