What has been happening ‘all day’ as Nottingham Forest push to sign Santiago Gimenez
Nottingham Forest are looking to cap off their transfer window with a deal for striker Santiago Gimenez.
The Mexican forward has attracted plenty of attention after ending last season with 26 𝐆goals in all competitio💦ns for Feyenoord.
Tottenham had held talks with Santiago Gimenez and his agent earlier this summer, but the North Lond🔯on side instead opted to pay a club-record £65million for Dominic Solanke.
Nottingham Forest also entered the race for Gim꧅enez and with Spurs dropping out after their Solanke deal, Forest are now in po𓆏le posi꧂tion.
Reports suggested Forest prepared a bid for Gimenez after he stole the headlineꦿs by scoring twice in the Johan Cruyff Shield final.
Santiago Gimenez continued his fine form with another two goals in Feyenoord’s Eredivisie match against PEC Zwolle on Sunday and it seems Nottingham Forest are now stepping up their interest.

Nottingham Forest in Santiago Gimenez talks
Forest have already completed seven new deals this summer, with their most expensive signing so far being the £35million spent on Elliot Anderson.
But they are still on the lookout for a new centre-forward and reports ꧒from The Netherlands suggest they are close to striking an agreement for Gimenez.
According to Martijn Krabbendam on , Forest were in talks wi𒈔th Fey༒enoord “all day” as they look to reach an agreement.
“Today there have been negotiations all day between Nottingham Forest and Gimenez’s agents. It’s about the transfer fee,” said Krabbenda꧋m.
“But they will reach an agreement. If Nottingham offers a little more than Brighton paid for Mats Wieffe🌜r and Gimenez breaks the record, then Feyenoord is prepared to let him go.”
Nottingham Forest must break club record
Kr⛎abbendam claims that Feyenoord want a club-record fee in order to part ways with Gimenez this summer.

Brighton coughed up £25million for Wieffer earlier this summer, which suggests Forest will need to top that to secure💝 Gimenez’s signature.
It would be an expensive deal and would take Forest’s spending just shy of £100million, but he is a proven goalscorer and would be a strong additi🌃on to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
