What Everton fans were singing about Liverpool at full-time after 2-0 derby win

Everton fans certainly enjoyed every moment of their empathic victory against Liverpool in the Merseyside Derby this evening.

Liverpool were regarded as favourites by almost every pundit heading into the game, however, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and his teammates evidently had other ideas.

Jurgen Klopp’s defenders looked rattled when it came to set-pieces, and Everton absolutely deserved their win.

Of course, the Premier League table now looks incredibly healthy from an Everton perspective, at both the bottom and the top.

Dyche’s side have now moved seven points clear of Nottingham Forest, and just as important to the Everton fans, Liverpool’s title chances look to be over.

The home side simply were just better in every aspect of the game.

Broadcaster John Murray was watching the match for and commented that the atmosphere was raucous at full-time.

And amid those scenes, Murray seemed to be amused at what the Everton fans were singing.

Everton fans revel in their first Goodison Park derby win since David Moyes was in charge

Goodison Park was rocking for Jurgen Klopp’s last visit as Liverpool manager, and the Everton players even stayed after full-time for a lap of honour.

Watching the scenes, Murray said: “The flags are waving to my left.

“It’s the first time that Everton have won the derby here since David Moyes was manager.

“The song they are signing: “You lost the league at Goodison Park.””

Of course, given all they’ve been through over the years, you certainly can’t blame these fans for revelling in the moment.

There’s still a lot of work to be done to keep progressing the club forward, both on and off the pitch.

But Sean Dyche has created a consistency in the club’s performances which has been missing for so long.

He’ll want to improve, he’ll definitely want more.

But Everton do now seem to have a foundation to build upon, something that has been missing for far too long.

All that being said, Jamie Carragher has just delivered his verdict on tonight’s game.
