West Ham reportedly want player Joe Cole compared to England midfielder
West Ham United are reportedly interested in raiding Paris Saint-Germain for midfielder Idrissa Gueye this summer but face competition from other Premier League clubs – and Joe Cole has previous⛎ly compared him to an England in⛄ternational.
Gueye, 30, only joined PSG from Evert🍎on last summer for a fee believed to be in the region of £30million . He was a regular member of Thomas Tuchel’s side throughout 2019-20, but now he is being linked with an exit.
that he is the ‘most likely’ player to leave PSG this summer, while sporting director Leonardo is ꦗkeen to get rid of the African star. The report also claims Wolves, Palace 𝄹and Manchester United are rivalling the Hammers.
Speaking about Gueye following his move to Aston Villa in 2015, Hammers icon Cole stated the £110k-a-week star () is perfect for the Premier League and compared the former Lille man to Everton star Fabian Delph in the way he plays footbaᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚll.

“He has all the physical attributes to play🍎 in the Premier League,”🐠 five years ago. “Playing-wise, he is similar to Fabian [Delph].
“He has good eওnergy. He’s a good footballer. He can get forward and get back. He’s a good lad too. He has a solid personality. He wants to do well and he wants to win. The fans will like him.”
TBR’s view – Gueye would be a stunning signing for West Ham
Guꦛeye has three years left on his contract at PSG but w🌳ith the French champions looking to get rid of him, he could be available for a smaller fee than the one PSG paid for him last summer. His wages, though expensive, are affordable for the Hammers.
West Ham have Mark Noble, Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek in midfield. While Noble is better used as a box-to-box midfielder🐼, as is Soucek, and Rice in defence at times, Gueꦇye is the ideal pass master in between defence and midfield.
He would be a stunning signing, a🅰nd has ce🧜rtainly surpassed Delph since Cole’s comments in 2015.
