West Ham really like another Portuguese manager as well as Ruben Amorim, he could replace David Moyes

West Ham United have emerged as a surprise contender to land Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim.

David Moyes is reportedly set to le🎶ave the London Stadium at the end of the season after facing plenty of scrutiny in recent months.

West Ham’s 5-2 hammering at Crystal Palace only strengthened the feeling amongst supporters that🌳 now is the right time for Moyes to move on.

The Scotsman deꦫlivered a European trophy under 12 months ago but with his contract set to expire this summer, his days in east London look numbered.

The Hammers are already lining up potential replacements and Ruben Amorim is under consideration.

Amorim has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield but it was claimed just yesterday that 🀅a switch to Liverpool is ‘unlikely’.♈

Instead, the 39-year-old reportedly flew to England for tal𓄧ks over a move to the L▨ondon Stadium.

However, according to Ben Jacobs, the Hammers are also consider🌌ing othജer options.

Paulo Fonseca ‘very respected’ at West Ham

Jacobs took to X on Tuesday morning and claimed that Paulo Fonseca remains an option for West Ham.

Should the east Londoners replace Moyes, it’s 🦂noted that the Portuguese boss is a𒐪n option.

“Paulo Fonseca is very respected by the leadership at West Ham and also one potential option to replace David Moyes if he leav𝓡es,” Jacobs wrote.

“As of now, though, there has been no contact with him. Fonseca is focused 🅰on Lille until the end of the season.”

Fonseca has been long linked with a move to West Ham and has enjoyed an impressive spell at Ligue 1 ꦚoutfit Lille.🥃

The 51-year-old was rece🐭ntly knocked out of the Europa Conference League on penalties by Aston Villa and has Lille sitting fourth in the French top flight.

Amorim more exciting than Fonseca for West Ham

While Fonseca would ♊be an intriguing option for the Hammers, Amorim will s🐽urely remain their top priority.

Liverpool have seemingly cooled their i🎃nterest in the Sporting CP boss, which could leave West Ham with a free run at hiring him.

Amorim is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young managerꦡs in Europe right nowꦬ.

The Portuguese boss has Sporting sitting top of the Pr🗹imeira Liga and just a couple of wins away from securing his second league title.

With that being 🔜said, if West Ham were unable to lure Amorim to east Lo🌳ndon, Fonseca would be an exciting appointment.

The Lille boss sets his sides up to play an attacking brand of football and his approach would represent a significant cha🌌nge from Moyes.
