Future ‘not yet clear’ for 22-year-old West Ham defender following recall from Sunderland

Frederik Alves has returned to West Ham after his season-long loan to Sun꧑derland was cut short, his agent has confirmed.

T🦄he 22-year-old signed for the Hammers in January 2021 on a three and a half year deal from Danish side Silkeborg IF. The Dane didn’t make any first-team appearances in the remainder of the 20/21 season, a🔯s West Ham qualified for the Europa League.

The defender left the club on loan in search of first-team football ahead of the 21/22 season where he joinedꦫ League One side Sunderland. However, he has only made three appearances for The Black Cats in the first half of the deal, which lead to a premature return to Ea🌠st London.

In an interview with , his agent, Christian Bysted confirmed he tไrained with West Ham on Jan♚uary 13.

Although Alves is training with West Ham, it is ‘not yet clear’ what Moyes has planned for him. Whether he is a part of the Scot’s plans for the remainder of the season, or if the East London🅰 side will look for another loan deal for the defendไer.

Prior to signing for West Ham Alves made 47 appearances for Silkeborg between 2018 and 2021. He helped them achieve promotion to t𓂃he Danish Superliga in the 18/19 season and has represented Denmark at both under-20 and under-21 level.
