West Brom fans react as Aston Villa reportedly eye Matheus Pereira
A number of West Brom fans have taken to Twitter to react to suggesting that Aston Villa are interested in Matheus Pereira.
Sam Allardyce’s men’s hopes of staying up are fading – and with that, so could their hopes of holding onto some of their key men.

One of those is unquestionably Pereira. The 24-year-old is the Baggies’ top goalscorer in the Premier League, having taken his tally for the season to nine with four goals coming in his last four appearances.
The latest strike came on Sunday as he scored a penalty in the 2-2 draw with Aston Villa. And it appears that the Villans may not have been surprised to see him make an impact.

, a number of clubs are monitoring Pereira ahead of the summer. And one of those in the running is Dean Smith’s side.
It certainly appears that the Villa fans would love to see Pereira join them. West Brom supporters, on the other hand, are desperate for the Brazilian to head elsewhere if he does leave.
Many seem quite philosophical about Pereira’s future. They are under no illusions that he is likely to leave should they go down. is too good to return to the Championship.
However, they have implored Pereira to go almost anywhere else but Villa. They would clearly be incredibly angry if the club gave a sale to the Villans the green light.
Here is how some of the West Brom fans have reacted to the reports…

I would be happy to see him move on as he’s earnt his move but I really hope that he doesn’t go to the Villa.
He’d lose a lot of respect from the fans then.— Jon Hughes (@jon_hughes82)
Anyone but the old enemy. We be horrible seeing him in a Villa shirt.

We are not going to sell him to Villa, the outrage for be on par with the ESL. Selling good players to Villa or Wolves just simply doesn’t happen!

Pereira will loss my Respect if he joins Aston Villa I am sorry but he will
if I was Albion would say go away to Aston Villa
can’t us selling our best player to Villa— james duffy (@barryd19651)
I wouldn’t begrudge PEREIRA a move but please not Villa I beg…
— R. Smith (@Albionwestand)
Sit him and his agent down and agree a price with them, make sure it’s as high as possible. And if it’s met then let him go. Selling well is an important skill for clubs of our size and sadly it’s something we’ve got horribly wrong on recent years.

Not too difficult, would like to keep him but money’s money and hopefully we can get a fair sum, provided he hasn’t got a release clause.
