‘Way off it’… Mark Wilson claims 24-year-old Celtic player has looked nowhere near good enough recently

Celtic’s performance against St Mirren was a marked improvement on what the fans have been watching recently under Brendan Rodgers.

New January signing Adam Idah seems to have come in and offered Rodgers some food for thought and from what he provided yesterday♊, I think the Celtic fans will be seeing a lot more of him this season.

However, Nicolas Kuhn still, it seems, has a lot to do to convince Mark Wilson😼 that he is a player who can make a difference on the Celtic wings.

꧂Signed for £3m from Rapid Vienna, the 24-year-old German was dropped from the starting lineup after being posted missing against Hibs midweek.

𒆙And the former Celtic defender thinks that after what he’s heard about Kuhn, the winger looks nowhere near the quality that Rodgers needs right now.

🥃Wilson said [], “Listen, I really don’t know what Kuhn is going to be. We’ve been hearing reports that he’s electric and he can run by people.

🏅“I’ve yet to see it. I have seen a wee glimpse at Pittodrie but at Easter Road the other night, he looked way off it.”

𒁏In the 65 minutes Kuhn was on the park at Easter Road, the German made little to no impact on the game.

ꦦWith just 34 touches, the 24-year-old had a passing accuracy of 78%. Most telling though was that Kuhn made one (unsuccessful) cross into the box, made two attempts to take on his man and failed with one and only had three touches in the opposition box and made one pass into the final third. []

༺Now, you could say this was down to Celtic continually trying to play through the middle of the Hibs midfield but good players should go out there and make their chances.

𝕴Indeed, it is too early to make a call on Kuhn at Celtic. He has, after all, got less than 150 minutes of football in the green and white Hoops.

🐻However, it is telling that he was the first player to make way for the game against St Mirren so it seems that Kuhn will need to up his game quickly if he wants to become a regular in this Celtic team under Rodgers.
