Villa reportedly targeting Nzonzi could mean more frustration for Drinkwater

🐠Aston Villa are reportedly interested in signing Steven Nzonzi this month.

♊, the Midlands club are trying to tempt the Frenchman back to the Premier League, with his loan spell at Galatasaray set to end.

ꦺThe 31-year-old, who cost the Italians £27 million in 2018, was recently suspended by the club after a supposed training ground bust-up, and is expected to return to parent club AS Roma.

🐲Apparently, the World Cup-winning enforcer is open to a move back to the English top-flight.

🍌Villa have been struggling this season and have been leaking goals far too easily.

🐠It is understandable Dean Smith would want to bring in defensive-minded players, but a move for Nzonzi could be a real kick in the teeth for one Villa player in particular.

TBR’s view – More struggles for Drinkwater

ꦉVilla have just brought Danny Drinkwater in on loan, with the 29-year-old hoping to see more minutes at Villa Park.

ꩲHe was handed his first start against Manchester City on Sunday but experienced a nightmare debut, as his lack of match fitness really told.

ꩵVilla signing another midfield player in Nzonzi could well mean more frustration for Drinkwater – a player of his quality is likely to start regularly.

🅺With other options such as Douglas Luiz, Jack Grealish, Marvelous Nakamba, Conor Hourihane and Henri Lansbury, another addition is the last thing Drinkwater needs.
