Emerson Royal is very popular
Gold spoke about how likeable Emerson Royal is, claiming he’s not heard a bad word about the Brazilian from anyone behind the scenes.
“It’s very difficult to dislike him. I know some people want to dislike him, but he seems like such a nice guy,” Gold said.
“He has a lot better English than Richarlison who has been here for longer in the country. He has a really funny way about him and I’ve never heard anyone say a bad word about him behind the scenes whatsoever.”
Emerson Royal should stay
Emerson Royal may be a very popular player, but that seemingly won’t save him at Tottenham.
Indeed, the Brazilian appears to be on the verge of leaving the club with AC Milan interested, but maybe he should stay.
Granted, Royal isn’t Spurs’ best player, but he does a serviceable job and he’s incredibly popular in the dressing room.
Having a harmonious dressing room is incredibly important, and figures like Emerson are key to keeping that energy around the place.
Ange Postecoglou will know just how important it is to have a happy squad, and perhaps he may be having second-thoughts about selling Emerson due to how popular he is with his teammates.
Emerson is expected to leave Tottenham this summer, but letting such a popular player go could end up being a big mistake.
