‘Unworthy of the jersey’… £3.75m player told he is not good enough for Celtic and will be sold soon
Celtic’s draw against Aberdeen on Saturday has the fans, pundits and former players all having their say on how they see the club going.
With Celtic’s January transfer window taking the brunt of the criticism🔯, it is one of Ange Postecoglou’s signings that has come under the microscope for his part in Celtic dropping two points at Pittodrie.
Hugh Keevins pointed the finger at Argentine full-back, Alexandro Bernabei, and has told the £3.75m signing from Lanuꦅs that he is simply not good enough to play for Celtic.
ﷺKeevins said [], “He’s a £3.75m player who has been found to be, like many at Celtic, unworthy of the jersey. So the time will come when is offloaded.
“He is there as an emergency stopgap because Greg Taylor is out injured.“
The Celtic fans won’t like this but they will agree with Keevins on this one. Bernabei has shown nothing to prove that he’s got the ability to be a regular starter for Celtic.
Alexandro Bernabei needs to move out of Celtic
♉In the 221 minutes Bernabei has played this season for Celtic he has reached an average match rating of 6.56. []
🌠In those minutes the 23-year-old has made just two tackles, averaging 0.2 blocks, 0.5 clearances and 0.3 interceptions.

ꦺYou could argue that with the amount of attacking Celtic do that is expected but when Bernabei has played in the 2-0 defeat to Hearts, the struggling 1-0 win over Ross County and Saturday’s draw against Aberdeen, there was plenty of defending to do in both games that he should have been involved in.
🌄Let’s not forget it was Bernabei’s error that led to Bojan Miovski’s opener on Saturday afternoon.
ജOffensively, his stats are not much better. As an attacking fullback, Bernabei has no goals or assists, has averaged 0.5 shots, 0.5 key passes and has a passing success rate of 80.8%.
ꦐUnfortunately, I am in agreement with Keevins, Bernabei needs to be moved on and hopefully, that move will come in the summer.
