Unai Emery would love Aston Villa to sign Joao Felix
According to Spanish outlet , Unai Emery is eager to bring Atletico Madrid playmaker Joao Felix to Villa Park.
The Spaniard considers him a top-level player and believes there’s a real opportunity to sign him with Champions League football on the horizon at Villa Park.
Felix isn’t convinced about a return to Barcelona and wants his future resolved before the start of pre-season later this month.
His agent Jorge Mendes will work on his exit over the coming weeks and Villa are expected to position themselves as suitors along with his former club Benfica.
Joao Felix price tag
Felix, who netted 10 times whilst laying on six assists last term, is expected to depart on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy worth £50m.
For a player of his calibre, that’s a pretty reasonable deal and one Villa seem happy to agree on if Felix gives the green light on a move.
His Atletico Madrid teammate Stefan Savic even believes he’s capable of winning the Ballon d’Or.
“He is a different player, something that we did not have in the squad. He is still a young boy, he has room to grow and you have to leave him alone,” Savic told .
“You have chosen the best possible club to grow. He has a great future and if he continues like this, I have no doubt that he can be a great player or a Ballon d’Or winner, but before that he has to win something with the club.”
