Tottenham will bid for £50m striker if Richarlison moves to Saudi Arabia and he is ready to leave
Tottenham already have a plan of action in mind if Richarlison leaves N17 this summer.
🗹The Brazil international is attracting interest from Saudi Arabia, and if an exit materialises, one of England’s best strikers could move to Spurs as his replacement.
So, who will Tottenham bid for if Richarlison leaves? Let’s take a look…
Tottenham want Ivan Toney if Richarlison departs
Alex Crook of talkSPORT has now claimed that Tottenham will move for Brentford No.17 Ivan Toney if Richarlison leaves this summer.
𓆉The Chief Football Correspondent for talkSPORT added that the South American is now “happy to” leave Spurs.
🤡Crook : “I think Tottenham are looking for a number nine. Richarlison is happy to move on now, probably to Saudi Arabia. If that does happen I would expect Tottenham’s interest in Toney to accelerate.
ꦛ“Two interesting things here. Brentford’s asking price seems to be coming down by the week. In January they seemed to be setting the fee at £80m, then it went down to £70m, £60m. I think they would probably take £50m now.
🍎“I was told during my time in Germany that Saudi Arabia was a possible destination for Toney. I’m not sure it would be top of his list, but the reason his price is coming down is because Toney has made it clear that at this moment in time he won’t sign a new contract at Brentford, which means they do run the risk that he goes as a free agent next summer.”

ꦓThe England international endured a tough 2023/24 campaign after returning from a lengthy ban in January, scoring just four goals in 17 Premier League appearances.
﷽Toney did – however – net 20 goals in 33 Premier League appearances in his last full season, the 2022/23 campaign, a tally bettered only by Harry Kane and Erling Haaland.
Spurs should bid now
♔If it is financially doable for Tottenham, they should make a move for Toney now – regardless of what happens with Richarlison.
💟The 28-year-old is arguably the best available striker on the market this summer, and he is also one of those rare options who are ready made for the Premier League, having amassed 85 Premier League appearances in total, scoring 36 goals.

Manchester United are also looking at Toney♍ – so time is of the essence for Spurs, and they risk losing out.

💜A sum of £50m for a proven, reliable striker is a reasonable fee nowadays, and given the fact Ange Postecoglou lacks an outright No.9 in his squad, this deal would make plenty of sense.
