Tottenham think they’ve found the ‘perfect’ midfield signing
Tottenham Hotspur could do with bolstering their midfield this month.
The north London club have an incredible squad, but they are rather light in the midfield at the moment with Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr off to the African Cup of Nations, while Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s future remains up in the air.
Luckily for Tottenham, the January transfer window is open, and Spurs apparently think they’ve identified who will be the perfect midfield signing this month.
Indeed, speaking on the , Dean Jones has claimed that there is a possibility that Spurs do sign a new midfielder this month, and he says that he’s been told the club think Conor Gallagher would be the perfect number eight fit.

Jones shared what he’s heard about the 23-year-old.
“There definitely is a possibility of that and if they were to get what they believe to be the perfect number eight fit I’m told that they think Conor Gallagher would genuinely be that,” Jones said.

The idea of Gallagher playing under Ange Postecoglou for Tottenham is mouthwatering.
Spurs think that Gallagher will be perfect for them, and they’re not too far wrong.
The midfielder is a fantastic footballer, and his strengths absolutely suit Postecoglou’s style.
Indeed, Gallagher is the epitome of an all-action midfielder who doesn’t stop running during every game he plays, and that is perfect for Postecoglou’s tactics.
Of course, whether or not this deal proves to be possible remains to be seen.There have been conflicting results on this one over the past few weeks, and with Gallagher being such an important player for Chelsea this season, it won’t be easy for Spurs to twist the Blues’ arm here.
Jones’ comments show just how much Spurs appreciate Gallagher as a player, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if they do continue to push for this signing towards the end of the month.
