Tottenham loanee Jack Clarke given 9/10 rating after ‘outstanding’ display

ꦓTottenham loanee Jack Clarke produced one of his best displays yet for Sunderland on Monday as they reached the League One play-off final, .

🎃The Black Cats got past Sheffield Wednesday in dramatic fashion at Hillsborough. Sunderland took a 1-0 lead into the second-leg after victory at the Stadium of Light.

𓆏It did appear that extra-time may be required as Darren Moore’s men levelled the tie on aggregate with the opener with 16 minutes remaining. However, there was to be one final twist after the fourth official had confirmed that there would be 10 minutes of stoppage-time.

ﷺClarke set up Patrick Roberts for the leveller on the night. And of course, it proved to be the goal that has sent Alex Neil’s side to Wembley. They will meet Wycombe for a place in the Championship.

ꦕRoberts was their hero. But it seems that Clarke was the star of the show for some. The Sunderland Echo handed the Spurs loanee a 9/10 rating, and labelled his display outstanding.

ꦬ“Simply outstanding. Dug in for Dennis Cirkin all night and kept providing an outlet when Sunderland did get on the ball. Got his reward when he found one more surge late on, crossing the ball for Roberts. A coming-of-age Sunderland performance,” .

Tottenham loanee Jack Clarke finding form at ideal time for Sunderland and Spurs

𒀰Clarke, unfortunately, has not had the best time since joining Tottenham back in 2019. He has only made a handful of appearances for the club’s first-team. And he has not had much more success out on loan.

Reports claimed that Spurs plan to sell Clarke this summer🧸. So it is probably fair to suggest that his performance has come at an ideal time for both Tottenham and Sunderland.

ꩲOf course, it has helped the Black Cats get to Wembley. But it may also attract a little attention ahead of the summer window.

🍎He has shown glimpses of his talent. And clearly, if everything clicks for him, he still has time to turn his career around.
