Tottenham learn how much Brentford’s Thomas Frank would cost to replace Ange Postecoglou

TBR Football can exclusively reveal that there is little chance Tottenham Hotspur will pay Thomas Frank’s release clause which is in excess of £9 million.

Tottenham are also unlikely to target Marco Silva🍨 for the same reason with his release clause standing at around £8 million at Fulham.

💫The North London club are open to paying a release clause for the right man, but for now, despite both managers being liked by the club, Silva and Frank’s prices are deemed too high.

Ange Postecoglou remains safe for now𓃲, with the North London club keen to do their utmost to delay a decision over his future until the summer. They are aware attracting a suitable coach mid-season would be very tricky.

Tottenham unlikely to pay Thomas Frank’s release clause

Tottenham are big admirers of Thomas Frank but are unlikely to pay his £9 million release clause, sources have told TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey.

Spurs’ sporting director Johan Lange🌌 is close with Frank and the Danish duo have previously held talks when the former was at Aston Villa.

TBR Football sources can reveal that Frank, along with Marco Silva, would be two of Lange’s first-choice replacements for Ange Postecoglouꩲ, but as mentioned, their release clauses throw a spanner in the works.

👍But again, that could change if they eventually decided that one of the Premier League duo were good enough to take the hot seat at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

✅No decision has been made over Postecoglou’s long-term future, but at this moment in time, Spurs are sticking by the Australian.

Which other managers are contenders for the Tottenham job?

📖The Lilywhites are understood to appreciate the work both managers have done at their respective clubs.

♕Iraola is considered ‘one of the brightest emerging managerial talents in the Premier League’ as he continues to impress on the South Coast.

🐓Meanwhile, McKenna being a client of CAA Base and having previously coached at Spurs places him high on the list, along with the fact he’s done a great job at Portman Road.
