Tottenham have just opened talks to sign £34m defender after selling Emerson Royal
Tottenham Hotspur are now looking to add to their defence following the recent sale of Emerson Royal to AC Milan.
Ange Postecoglou‘s side have done extremely well this summer when it comes to selling players who are now longer seen as part of the project.
Tottenham have already seen 11 players depart the club this summer over a variety of different departures.
The same may not be the said when it comes to arrivals with only really Dominic Solanke and Archie Gray brought through the doors this summer.
But that could soon change with Spurs looking to find a potential replacement for their former Brazilian right-back who has now departed.

Tottenham set to make £34m offer for defender
After weeks of negotiations between Milan and Spurs, Emerson finally made his move to the San Siro in a deal which saw Spurs lose some depth at right-back.
But it does not look like Spurs are hanging about in trying to find his replacement with talks already underway over a new right-back.
According to journalist Bruno Andrade, Spurs are now set to offer €40m (£34m) for the Monaco right-back Vanderson.
Talks have now been opened between the two clubs with Spurs looking to bolster their backline following Emerson’s sale.
This comes just days after Spurs spent big on the signing of striker Dominic Solanke who arrived from Bournemouth for around £65m in total.
What does signing Vanderson mean for Djed Spence at Tottenham?
This summer has seen some really impressive displays by Spurs players during pre-season and none more surprising that Djed Spence.
The right-back really impressed the Spurs manager with Postecoglou saying Spence may have just saved his Spurs career.
However, the signing of a £34m right-back would surely put his place in the squad further back ahead of Monday’s curtain raiser.
But Spence did show over the summer he could also cover at left-back which could be of big importance to Postecoglou.
Ben Davies is not exactly a like for like replacement to Destiny Udogie, but Spence could offer a more attack-minded option.
