Tottenham fans should be worried about what former Aston Villa player said about Johan Lange back in 2023
Tottenham Hotspur have endured a rather frustrating transfer window with their first outfield arrival coming through the door on February 2.
Tottenham fans have been left frustrated with both Daniel Levy and their sporting director Johan Lange for their failure not to act quicker in the window.
Lange has received a fair amount of criticism from supporters having now had three transfer windows to sign players for the North London club.
The former Aston Villa director has made some interesting additions in the likes of Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray, however, there is a feeling that he’s left Ange Postecoglou’s squad short in certain areas.
Following an underwhelming January window, quotes from one of his former players at Aston Villa have re-emerged when he questioned Lange’s appointment at Spurs.

Henri Lansbury said Johan Lange’s appointment at Tottenham was a ‘crazy’ decision
Back in 2023, former Aston Villa midfielder Henri Lansbury described Tottenham’s decision to appoint to appoint Johan Lange as ‘crazy’.
Lansbury worked under the Tottenham sporting director when he was in charge at Villa and suggested he was unhappy with the way Lange treated him.
Lansbury revealed how he was banished from training with the first team and was offered 20 percent of his contract to leave the club immediately, with Lange apparently calling the shots.
He explained how he understood the club’s decision not to include him in the first-team as he had been struggling with injuries but he was unhappy with how they tried to get rid of him from the club.
When told that Lange is now at Tottenham, Lansbury told Filthy Fellas: “Yeah, crazy how they have taken him, in my personal opinion. Good luck to Tottenham.”
Who has Johan Lange signed at Tottenham?
Tottenham have brought in nine players during Lange’s time in North London and the jury remains out for the majority of the additions.

His first window at the club in January 2024 looks to be a rather poor one having signed Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin, although he did make the rather astute addition of Bergvall.
During the following summer, he signed three teenagers in Gray, Yang and Odobert with the former Leeds man being the only one to make an actual impression so far.
Dominic Solanke has been by far his best signing in N17 with the striker being very impressive under Postecoglou this season.
Kevin Danso and Antonin Kinsky are the two players signed under his watch during the current winter window, however, Tottenham fans certainly expected more to be done given their injury crisis.
