Tottenham could now sign ‘extraordinary’ talent with £52m release-clause for less than £20m
Tottenham are in the market for new signings and could now land a discount of around £35m for one top target.
Spurs are looking towards another busy summer in the transfer market and have a number of players on their radar.
Young Swedish star Lucas Bergvall is already signing but manager Ange Postecoglou has spoken openly about wanting more quality additions brought in.
A new forward or winger is believed to be high on Spurs’ agenda, even though they have renewed Timo Werner’s loan for another year.
And according to reports from Portugal, one potential signing could very much be available on the cheap.

Tottenham could sign Marcus Edwards for just £17m
According to a report from Tottenham poised for £137m FFP boost as 12 exits on cards, including one 2023 signing over in Portugal, Tottenham retain an interest in bringing Edwards back to the club.
Interestingly, it’s claimed they could land the winger for a bargain fee of just £17m as well, with Sporting apparently open to doing business.
That figure is some way off the that was mentioned back in January when Tottenham were first said to be sniffing round their former player.
Edwards is also apparently open to making the move back to England.
A reunion with Pedro Porro could be on the cards for Edwards then. The Spanish full-back has previously lauded Edwards, labelling him as an ‘extraordinary‘ talent from their time together in Lisbon.
A bargain buy to flourish under Big Ange
Tottenham need to get busy this summer and there’s no doubt they need more players in the squad to add depth and quality.
Marcus Edwards has shown himself to be a good young player over in Europe but the next step for him is to prove he can do it back in England.
Six goals and nine assists last season show he can produce and at just 25, Edwards should still have the prime years of his career ahead.
At £17m, then, this could be a no-brainer piece of business for Spurs to do.
