Tottenham could now loan ‘wonderkid’ who left Ange Postecoglou blown away in pre-season

A number of teenagers have really impressed in Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-season games this summer and now tough decisions will have to be made.

Ange Postecoglou will have to trim the fat of his squad ahead of the fast-approaching transfer deadline and must decide what young players he wants to keep around.

Once that decision is made, Tottenham can then plan for loans to further develop the youngsters who won’t get sufficient opportunities under the Australian head coach.

With that said, it’s now thought one of the academy stars who impressed in pre-season could now be set for loan away.

Tottenham could send Will Lankshear on loan

Will Lankshear has really impressed in Tottenham’s pre-season games but despite many tipping him to be the next Harry Kane, it appears his short-term future lies away from North London.

According to , Spurs are considering sending Lankshear out on loan for the season but they are short for cover in the striking department.

Alejo Veliz and Dane Scarlett have already left on loan deals so perhaps the 18-year-old may be kept around, especially if he can impress in any cameo appearances he makes.

With Dominic Solanke joining from Bournemouth in a £65m deal, opportunities will certainly be limited for Lankshear, who has been labelled a ‘wonderkid’, per .

Middlesbrough interested in Will Lankshear

Lankshear has a lot of interest from clubs in the Championship and Middlesbrough are thought to be one of his potential suitors.

Perhaps if a high-end Championship loan comes about, like a Boro, Spurs should allow him to depart as it’s often much better for their development.

Ashley Phillips’ season at Plymouth Argyle last term is a prime example of that notion and he’s now returned a much better player.
