Tottenham are set to rival Real Madrid for ‘one of the world’s best defenders’

Tottenham Hotspur’s recruitment during Ange Postecoglou’s reign in charge has been near perfect.

James Maddison, Micky van de Ven and Lucas Bergvall are just a few examples of Tottenham’s excellent 𓄧dealings in the transfer market in recent times.

And, they are already plotting their next mꩵove in the market ahead, though, not for the January window but i🎶n fact for next summer.

It’s just come to light that they’re up against La Liga giants Real Madrid for his signat♓ure

Tottenham to rival Real Madrid for Jonathan Tah

According to German outlet , Tottenham Hotspur are showing an interest in Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Jonathan Tah.

Tah is out of contracဣt at the end of the season and is expected☂ to depart on a free transfer, which has put a number of clubs on red alert.

Real Madrid are thought to be🍨 keeping an 💟eye on his situation, as are Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Manchester United.

So evidently, if Spurs are to land his signature, they’ll have to fend off fierce cꦛompetition for ‘one of the wor🌞ld’s best defenders’ – as labelled by Xavi Alonso ().

Jonathan David statistics vs Cristian Romero

Should Tah join Tottenham, he’ll likely be competing against Cristian Rome🔯ro for a spot in ꦑPostecoglou’s line-up.

Here is how the two compare, statistics-wise.

Stats per 90Jonathan TahCristian Romero
Tackles0.641.98
Aerials won 2.212.86
Blocks0.541.57
Interceptions 0.921.26
Progressive passes4.775.46

Evidently, Romero’s🐎 statistics are superior to Tah’s, so it appears he’ll have a hard time displacing Tottenham’s vice-captain.

Perhaps he’ll get his opportunities in ꦛcup competitions initially.
