‘To this day’… Former England international says he still really dislikes Arsenal
Former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paul Robinson has admitted he still really dislikes Arsenal.
🧸Speaking on Tottenham’s podcast, the former England international admitted his dislike for Arsenal due to them being his ‘bogey team’.
It’s fair to say that Paul Robinson💦 didn’t enjoy much success against the Gunners during his time at Spurs.
The former Leeds United man was part of the Tottenham side who, in his own words, were ‘inferior’ to a then brilliant Arsenal side.
Arsene Wenger🍌 enjoyed some of his best years at Highbury and the Emirates Stadium while Robinson was inbetween the sticks for Spurs.
And Robinson has admitted that his ‘personal vendetta’ with Thierry Henry๊ was part of the reason he grew to dislike Arsenal.

Robinson says he still dislikes Arsenal
🅰Speaking on Off The Shelf, Robinson discussed the last-ever North London Derby at Highbury.
♌Spurs earned a 1-1 draw on the day after Thierry Henry cancelled out Robbie Keane’s opener.
🅰Reflecting on the game, Robinson admitted the ‘hatred’ towards Arsenal developed during his time at Tottenham.
🐼“That was a performance,” the former Spurs man said. “There was a togetherness and something in that performance but I still think we had an issue with Arsenal at the time.
🌳“We were inferior to them. The Tottenham teams I played in were inferior because you look at the quality the Arsenal team had.
🔥“As much as it pains me to say it and I take great pride in every time anyone beats Arsenal, but for me I think a little bit of that in me, the underlying thing is one because I had a personal vendetta with Thierry Henry. Every time he played it was Thierry four, even at Leeds.
𒅌“I remember him playing at Leeds, we were 20 minutes in and I looked up at the scoreboard it was 4-0 and he had three of them already. I think that was the start of it for me, Arsenal always seemed to be a bogey team for me.
🥀“Obviously playing at Tottenham the hatred develops and still to this day there’s a dislike there.”

♏It’s no real surprise to hear Robinson admitting he dislikes Arsenal given his close affiliation with Tottenham.
ꩵMany Arsenal legends haven’t been shy of showing their dislike for Spurs, including the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Theo Walcott.
😼The North London Derby is arguably the fiercest rivalry in the country and when you hear comments like these from Robinson, it only strengthens that theory.
