Tim Howard shares what he finds so bizarre about Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher

Tim Howard has shared what he finds odd about Caoimhin Kelleher as the Liverpool goalkeeper continues to impress in the absence of Alisson Becker.

Due to injury to Alisson Becker, Caoimhin Kelleher has been an ev🌳er-present for the Reds over the last month or so. Of course, the highlight came at Wembley as Jurgen🐟 Klopp’s men clinched the Carabao Cup final.

Kelleher was unbelievable in the final, making a number of outstanding saves. And h🏅e has continued to impress in the weeks since. Manchester City are the only team to stop Liverpool winning in that run since the 25-year-old came into the team.

Tim Howard amazed by how Caoimhin Kelleher acts like Alisson Becker

Kelleher’s talent has rarely been doubted over the last couple of years. Liꦰverpool know that they have a superb backup goalkeeper in Kelleher. And with that, there is speculation over his future, with many anticipating that he will want to become a number one so🙈mewhere sooner rather than later.

But for now, his focus will be on the Reds as th♕ey prepare for their FA Cup tie wi❀th Manchester United this evening.

And speꦓaking to , Tim Howard suggested that it🌠 is remarkable how there does not seem to be any drop off between the two goalkeepers at all.

“Not here, it usually is. And it’s odd, he🌳’s taken on the form and the shape of Alisson,” he said.

“The way he plays, the way he breakꦫs down and saves one on one, it looks like it’s a spitting image. And that means he’s learned in training, he’s absorbed all the things that Alisson is showing him. And quite frankly, that’s the easy part. The hard part is getting in the game.

“And when you look at Liverpool’s defenders, that for me, when I look at goalkeepers, does he have the trust of his defenders? Are they yelling at him? No, it’s r﷽everse. He’sཧ talking to van Dijk. He’s the one getting all the plaudits and the high fives when he makes a save. So they have trust in him. Not only Klopp, but the players in front of him.”

Liverpool will be desperate to keep 25-year-old

It would obviously be a big boost if Liverpool could continue to keep Kelleher. But given that A💮lisson is 31, there is little reason why the Brazilian could not continue to play at the highest leveꦅl for several years.

Wi♏th that, it would be asking a lot to expect Kelleher to stay patient. So many may be wondering if he will foll𒐪ow Klopp out of the Anfield door this summer.
