‘They’ve got to be very careful…’ Alan Brazil reacts to transfer news coming out of Celtic
Alan Brazil has given his reaction to news this week that Atletico Madrid have reportedly made a bid to sign Celtic’s Matt O’Riley.
The Danish international has emerged as a target for the Spanish giants, with reports suggesting that Atletico have made a loan offer with an obligation to buy O’Riley in recent days.
With the 23-year-old one of Celtic’s most important players, any sale would be a massive decision for the Hoops, especially with the Scottish title race as close as it currently is.

And , Brazil noted that selling O’Riley could open the door for Rangers to overtake Celtic in the standings, with the midfielder one of the outstanding players in Scotland this season.
Brazil said when reaction to the news: “You can’t sell him! They’ve got to be very careful because I keep saying to people if Rangers somehow beat Celtic at Ibrox and win their games in hand again it’s tight.”
When asked by Gabriel Agbonlahor if Celtic would sell for a good price, Brazil replied: “No, no, no, Mr Desmond doesn’t need the money.”
Atletico Madrid will need to pay up to lure Matt O’Riley away from Celtic

With double figures in goals and assists already this season in all competitions, it’s no real surprise why Atletico are interested in signing a midfielder like O’Riley.
However, if Celtic are to let go of their talismanic Dane, the finances of the transfer have to make sense, and there’s currently not telling how much Atletico are willing to offer to sign O’Riley.
Indeed, like most top clubs, Atletico’s finances aren’t in the healthiest of states, with the La Liga giants unlikely to match what Celtic are truly looking for in O’Riley.
Yet given the size of the club and the opportunity that’s now on the table, the player himself could force a deal through, with Atletico a dream move for a player like O’Riley.
