Paul Merson names three Liverpool players who could be dropped v Southampton after being ‘run to the ground’ at PSG

Liverpool pulled off one of the most unexpected results in recent football history when they left Paris Saint-Germain with a 1-0 win on Wednesday night.

Liverpool🙈 withstood 27 shots from PSG, 10 of which were on target, and had just 29.5 percent possession to the hosts’ 70.5 percent.

However, 💃PSG were up against an Alisson Becker in inspired form♓, the Brazilian goalkeeper pulling off nine saves.

At the other end, the Parisians couldn’t cope with ꦛDarwin Nunez, the ‘agent of chaos’ who set up Harvey Elliott for the winner.

Indeed, 🍰Jamie Carragher described Liverpool’s win over PSG as “one of the biggest robberies you will ever see in football”.

🐼However, a number of Liverpool players struggled on the night and will be eager to put the game behind them.

Paul Merson has now claimed he wouldn’t be surprised if three were at risk of losing their starting spots against Southampton.

☂Merson believes Liverpool will have no problems at Anfield against a Saints side sitting bottom of the Premier League table and destined for relegation.

The pundit then said Reds midfield trio Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch had a hard time against PSG.

🍰As a result, Merson says he’d understand if Arne Slot were to drop one or more of them for a game that, on paper, is not the most difficult.
