The three best performing Leicester players of 2019
൲Leicester City have had a brilliant 2019 and it says a lot that plenty of people are comparing the current crop to the historic 2015/16 Premier League title winners.
𒅌The Foxes started the calendar year in disappointing form back in January and a 4-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace on February 23 was the final match for manager Claude Puel.
꧋Brendan Rodgers ditched Scottish giants Celtic to make the move to the King Power Stadium and his impact started immediately.
🔯Leicester ended up finishing ninth in the 2018/19 season in the Premier League and they have moved to another level this campaign.
ღThey currently sit second of the Premier League table with 39 points from just 18 games and have played some scintillating football.

Ricardo Pereira
🦹It was a surprise when Leicester won the race for Ricardo back in May 2018 and he’s gone on to become a magnificent defender for the club.
🥀The right-back swooped the club’s player of the season award for 2018/19 and has carried on that form this campaign.
𒆙He’s an ever-present in the Rodgers XI due to his consistency and he has every right to be considered one of the best full-backs in the entire division.
🌼The Portugal international has great decision making and an eye for goal when bombing into the final third, while his energy from the flank is infectious.
♏Most full-backs nowadays are criticised for their defensive qualities, but he more than holds his own in one-on-one battles and will look to prove that against league leaders Liverpool on Boxing Day.
Jamie Vardy
🌳Vardy has 29 league goals in the calendar year so far, with 17 of them coming in this season alone.
🧜The 32-year-old is like a fine wine that gets better with age and it’s left many frustrated that he hanged up his boots for England’s national team.
𝓡He looks quicker and better now than ever if anything, which suggests the extra work is helping and he’s still got an infectious appetite.
🔴Vardy is a leader on the pitch with his pressing and overall star ability, which is why he’s arguably the most important individual at the club.
Wilfried Ndidi
𒀰Ndidi is an underrated enforcer that deserves to be in the conversation as one of the best young players in the Premier League and certainly one of the best defensive midfielders.
🌸The Nigerian turned 23 earlier in December and he’s been running things in the centre of the park throughout 2019 for Leicester.
🌃He covers every blade of grass in front of the back four and is a major throwback to ex-Foxes favourite N’Golo Kante.
