The Liverpool player who must make full use of Diogo Jota’s absence

♎Liverpool star Diogo Jota is facing up to two months on the sidelines to further increase the level of frustration for Jurgen Klopp and the Reds faithful.

ܫThe Portugal international has sustained a knee injury, picked up in the club’s final Champions league group stage match against FC Midtjylland last week.

⛦It’s a hammer blow for Liverpool, with Jota having been one of the team’s most in-form players in 2020/21.

𒀰Following his summer move from Wolves, Jota has scored nine goals in 17 appearances, and was knocking on Klopp’s door to be a regular starter before his setback.

ꦿAlthough Mo Salah is still scoring regularly, Jota and his goals threaten to be a real miss over the festive period and January – but his absence could open the door for one Anfield star.

💝Takumi Minamino is yet to really pull up trees for the Reds following his move in January from RB Salzburg.

🌟He’s mainly made substitute appearances, with starts coming here and there.

😼But this could be his chance, as he plays similar positions and has a similar style to Jota.

꧅Having been used fairly sparingly up to now in 2020/21, the £75,000-a-week Japan international () should be nice and fresh to feature regularly for the Reds.

🍰In theory, he should be the first man Klopp should turn to in Jota’s absence and it could be the period he properly announces himself one year on from his arrival at the club.
