The process of finding his successor has now begun and it’s proving a challenge, as 💃Graham Potter has already turned down the Leicester job.
City chiefs have now turned their attention elsewhere and TBR Football𓆏 can exclusively reveal the managers who are on their shortlist.
Leicester considering Lee Carsley
TBR Football꧑ understands that England Under-21 boss Lee Carsley is on Leicester City’s radar to replace Steve Cooper as manager.
🦩Carsley was overlooked for the England job following an interim spell, and he was linked with a move to his former club Coventry City.
🐠Potter was an early favourite for the role but he made it known he was not ready to return to management at this point.
💯Former Everton boss David Moyes is another that the club are known to hold an interest in and are ready to talk to him, whilst Ruud van Nistelrooy – who recently left Manchester United – is pushing hard for the opportunity.
🍬West Brom’s Carlos Corberan is also understood to have fans within the club – having previously been a target for the club.
Carsley may wait to succeed Thomas Tuchel as England manager
▨Carsley enjoyed a successful period as England’s interim manager and will now return to work with the under-21 set-up.
ꦆHis short rein in charge has done his stock no harm and he’ll no doubt be linked with many jobs across the Championship and Premier League over the next few months.
ꦡHowever, according to , Carsley is prepared to reject club approaches as he aims to become the permanent England boss when Thomas Tuchel leaves – which could be in 2026.
ꦐA telling few weeks lie ahead for Leicester in their bid to recruit Cooper’s successor.
