Southampton saw £6m bid to sign forward rejected in 2019 and now he’s a £50m star wanted by Arsenal

Southampton used to excel when it came to recruitment.

The Saints brought a number of top talents to the Premier League🌄 during the 2010s – such as Sadio Mane, Virgil van Dijk, Toby Alderweireld, Dusan Tadic and Victor Wanyama – all of whom were later plucked by bigger sides.

ꦡIt left Southampton with a much weaker side, consisting of good players such as Nathan Redmond and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, but mostly nowhere near the level of those who departed.

However, Southampton did attempt to sign Bryan Mbeumo in 2019 before he found stardom at Brentford.

Arsenal face competition to sign Bryan Mbeumo

ꦛThe Gunners are not the only ones who admire the 25-year-old.

ꦫAnge Postecoglou is believed to be a fan of Mbeumo💝 and wants him at Tottenham, with Spurs eager to avoid another injury crisis by adding depth to their attacking department.

Furthermore, Newcastle like Mbeumo🦄, with Eddie Howe keen to sign someone who can replicate what Anthony Gordon provides on the left flank.
