A number of Southa🌱mpton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on that the Saints are inte😼rested in Gary Cahill this summer.
Cahill is a free agent after leaving Crystal Palace earlier in the window. He has been linked with a numbಞer of clubs.

Rangers and Bournemouth are reportedly admirers. ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ that Ralph Hasenhuttl could yet attempt to bring him to St Mary’s.
The report notes that the Saints are in talks with a number of defenders abroad. But ⛎Cahill is also on their radar.
The 35-year-old has won virtually everything available to a Premier League footballer durin🐼g his caree🙈r.

Obviously, ♊he is coming towards the end of his playing days. And for some, the alarm bells do seem to be ringing.
Southampton started the campaign poorly at the weeke𒆙♓nd with a 3-1 defeat at Everton. And some perhaps feel that more is needed than a veteran like Cahill.
‘Would be a good signing’: Southampton fans discuss Gary Cahill reports
However, most of ꧃the fans appear to be in favour of a move. While they do not want him playing regularly, they do believe that he would bring a lot to the table.
With that in mind, here is how some of the Southampton fans have rea꧟cted to the links…
Gary would be a good signing

Experience is what’s needed now not an unproven player so Cahill is a perfect fit a proven leader and winner t𓆏he younger players would learn from him
— Matt stokes (@stokeser)
Him for free and a young cb who can play cdm
— Caleb🔴⚪ (@SFCaleb23)
Would be a great leader in our dressing room. I don’t think he would start for ♒us though

Much needed IMO… I hope tꦗhis story is true. This guy has woᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚn medals, and has winning pedigree! Our defence is crying out for that right now 😇

I don’t understand how this is a bad option? I get he’s past his best and not the quickest but his experience and game management is𒊎 exactly what our back line miss and something we haven’t had since Fonte left. Cahill can only make Bednarek and Salisu better
— Tom Stevenson (@Trs1981)
Two years too late imo
— Jon Shapland (@Jon_Shapland)
I think he🅘 would be perfect. Sign Delaney aswell snd I think we woul🗹d be sorted for the season. Great experience and leadership on the pitch.
— Andrew Leakey (@AndrewLeakey57)
As long as his wages aren’t too high, and he’s basically just being a coach, and we get🧜 another defenওder in, then he’d be alright
