Southampton close to signing £10m player compared to Justin Kluivert and also in talks over another deal
TBR Football understand Southampton are close to signing Albert Gronbaek from Rennes – and remain in talks with the Ligue 1 side over a deal for Glen Kamara.
The Saints seemingly need a miracle to survive in the Premier League♏ this season – with Southampton currently ten points off safety after accumulating just six points from a possible 66.
Ivan Juric, who is keen to keep Tyler Dibling🦹, did manage to coax some sort of positive effort out of Southampton on Sunday during the 3-2 defeat at Nottingham Forest on Sunday, with the Saints almost fighting back from 3-0 down at the City Ground.
Now, sources have informed TBR Football that Southampton🌸 are close to signing a new player for the Croatian, as everybody at the St Mary’s Stadium tries to eat up that ten-point gap as quickly as possible.
Southampton close to signing Albert Gronbaek from Rennes
Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent at TBR Football꧟ – has now been informed that Southampton are close to signing the Denmark international.
🤪We understand Gronbaek will initially arrive on loan – but if the Dane impresses at Southampton, the Saints will have an option to turn the deal permanent this summer.

ꦬThe 23-year-old only arrived at Rennes back in July 2024, moving from Bodø/Glimt for a sum of (£10m).
🌄However, Gronbaek’s situation has changed drastically since his arrival, with the man from Risskov not wanted by Jorge Sampaoli – who replaced Julien Stephan back in November.
ไThe attacking midfielder – who compare to Bournemouth No.19 Justin Kluivert – has scored two goals and provided one assist across 16 appearances in Ligue 1 this season.
Southampton also remain in talks to sign Glen Kamara from Rennes
𒉰Gronbaek may not be the only player swapping Rennes for Southampton this winter.

TBR Football revealed in December that Southampton were in talks to sign Glen Kamaraౠ from Rennes – another player who has fallen out of favour under Sampaoli.
ဣWe understand these talks are ongoing – although an agreement is yet to be reached like it has in regards to Gronbaek.
