Some Newcastle fans react as Mike Ashley accuses Premier League of blocking takeover

Some Newcastle United fans have been reacting on social media after Mike Ashley accused the Premier League of blocking the coll🍒apsed Saudi-led takeover.

Ashley, via the𓆏 , believes the Premier League have acted in the interest of ‘certain clubs’ and has stepped up his legal battle by filling an anti-competiꦬtion lawsuit.

The Sports Direct tycoon had agreed to sell the St. James’ Park natives for £300million last year, but 🌞feels the Premier League have restricted competition between clubs by preventing a deal from being concluded in their role as a gatekeeper.

Court documents reveal that Ashley claims the Premier League ‘failed’ to adhere to the rules of the owners and directors test in a ‘non-discriminat🍷ory fashion’, and knew that their actions would ‘prevent and/or delay’ the takeover.

Ashley hopes to r🌸eceive financial gains for the damages caused by the collapse of the takeover, and𒁃 is keen to see an injunction introduced that forces the Premier League to reconsider or withdraw their decision to block a Saudi-led buyout.

Prior reports by had claimed that Ashley is still confident a deal for Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, Amanda Staveley an🐓d the Reuben brothers to purchase Newcastle is achievable following an arbitration hearing, set for this summer ().
