Simon Mignolet says he ran out of patience at Liverpool and his exit was not smooth

Former Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has lifted the lid on his departure from Anfie🔴ld last summer, hinting that it was far from smooth.

As per , Mignolet says he ran out ✅of patience sitting on the bench with the Reds before his exi🌼t.

He : “After pre-season, I returned with the idea: now I am♏ going to give everything here and I get nothing in return.

“However, that was the easy option; seeing out the remaining two years at Liverpool, making good money at a top European club and being a free agent the age of 3🔯3. But another two years on the bench, that wasn’t in me. I had been at the end of my patience for the past six or seven months.’

W🦄hen he was asked if Liverpool ensured a smooth exit, he said: “Not difficult? I don’t dare say that.”

TBR’s View – Unsurprising that Mignolet didn’t want to sit on the bench, more surprising that Liverpool didn’t ensure smooth exit

Mignolet is unlikely to have been happy to sit on the bench behind Alisson, who got so much praise after coming into English football and was never go🌜ing to be dropped.

Of course, as it turns out, he would have been in the side now be✅cause the Braz﷽ilian is injured, but he wasn’t to know that.

But Mignolet gave Liverpool 🔯years of service and left with huge respect from all connected to the club, so the fact that they made his exit awkward is surprising, at a club that seems to be so well-run these days.
