Everton stalwart should be Sheffield United’s first summer signing

Sheffield United will play Premier League football next season after their promotion to the top flight was secured yesterday. Leeds’ 1-1 draw with Aston Villa at Elland Road means the Blades now hold an unassailable lead in second place.

Chris Wilder has worked wonders w𒁃ith his boyhood team. His South Yorkshire-based outfit weren’t among the promotion favourites prior to the campaiꦰgn but it’s been a case of job well done.

The hard work begins now. The class of 2018/19 isn’t blessed♎ with too many Premier League appearances and that will need rectifying by Wilder.

One player who could be targeted is former academy graduate Phil Jagielka, wh♓o will see his contract with Everton expire during the summer.

The 36-year-old has been with the Toffees for 12 𒁃years, signing from the Blades in 2007. During his time at Goodison Park, he has played 384 games for the club, earning 40 Engꦿland caps.

If the ch𒅌ance does arise for Jagielka to join his former club on a free transfer, it is 🃏one which Wilder should grasp with both hands.

Jack O’Connell and John Egan have excelled at the heart of United’s back four this season; a player with Jagielka’s experience wou꧟ld only enhance the club’𒊎s chances of survival though.

The veteran loves the football club and he would undoubtedly love to fiဣnish his career stamping Sheffield United’s authority as an established top-flight football club.
