Sean Dyche says Nottingham Forest star was ‘excellent’ in 2-0 win at Everton
Everton suffered a 2-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest at Goodison Park on Sunday.
Goals from Chris Wood and Morgan Gibbs-White remarkably moved the Reds up to second in the Premier League, with Everton slippi🍒ng down to 16th after Crystal Palace beat Southampton.
Despite having just 3ౠ6% of the possession, Nottingham Forest impressively registered seven shots on target – compared to just two from the Toffees – as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side stayed compact, discip🧜lined and took their opportunities to attack well.
Speaking after the final whistle, Sean Dyche reserved special praise for one Nottingham Forest player in particular.
Sean Dyche hails Chris Wood
Speaking to the after his side’s seventh Premier League defeat of the season, the man born in Kettering said: “(It was a) go🤪od finish from Woody. I thought he was excellent today, doing all the hard yards. Not touching the ball very often, but doing everything he needs to to be a handful. He was the difference in my opinion today.”

Wood, who wants a new contract at Nottingham Fore𝕴st, made 165 appearances under💛 Dyche at Burnley – scoring 53 goals and providing ten assists – so the pair certainly know each other well.
After the New Zeal🍒and international made it 1-0 in just the 15th minute, Nuno’s side never looked like throwing the three points away, remaining in control despite making only 287 passes to Everton’s total of 474.
Nottingham Forest also praised for game management under Nuno Espirito Santo
Dyche was not only impressed by Wood, who Chris Sutton thinks Arsenal could use, but also how Nottingham🌞 Forest managed the game after going 1-0 up in the 15th minute.

The 53-year-old said: “It is hard to break down a packed defence when they get their noses in front. I don’t think they had too many chances. We didn’t♏ ask enough questions overall against a team that is good at seeing a game out.”
Can𒊎 Nottingham Forest maintain this stunning form to secure a UEFA Champions League spot for next season? Only time will tell.
