Ruud van Nistelrooy shares whether Liverpool could win Premier League title this season
Liverpool have gone seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table thanks to their 3-1 win over Leicester City on Boxing Day.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot outfoxed Foxes manager Ruud van Nistelrooy as the Reds came from behind to record a solid win at Anfield.
Jordan Ayew’s early opener for Leicester was cancelled out by Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, with Curtis Jones and Mohamed Salah completing the turnaround.
With Liverpool cementing their spot at the Premier League summit and other teams showing signs of weakness, the Reds are now clear favourites to win the title.
Van Nistelrooy, speaking to Amazon Prime after the game, responded when asked about Liverpool’s current position as league leaders and title favourites.

The Leicester boss admitted that Liverpool “have a great chance” of winning the Premier League title thanks to their quality and stability.
“You never know in the Premier League and many things have happened before,” Van Nistelrooy said, via .
“But looking at this team and how stable they are and the depth of their squad they have a great chance.”
Van Nistelrooy also gave his thoughts on how his team fared against Liverpool, saying: “We know when you come here you want the start that we wanted.
“We knew we had to be compact and defend well. Which we did and we had a couple of breaks.
“We were in the game for a long time and at 2-1 we had the Daka chance – these are moments. In these games you have got to take them.
“When you are 1-0 up and we had a break with Stephy Mavididi on the break which led to a goal kick.
“A quick take from Allison and they combined into Gakpo. Him coming onto his right foot can be dangerous.”
On Thursday, Owen Hargreaves claimed Liverpool are the only Premier League team without a weakness at present.

On the title being Liverpool’s to lose, Slot said after the game, as per : “I don’t look at it that way.
“It’s bit of a boring answer, but as a manager you go game by game because you know how many games you still have to play.
“And you see especially in the Premier League results that you didn’t expect because teams have so much quality.”
