Report: Willian to sign Arsenal contract within 48 hours after passing medical

Brazilian attacker Willian should be an Arsenal player within the next 48 hours, according to reports. 

that the former Chelsea star has now passed a medical at Arsenal and will put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the Gunners over the course of the next two days. 

Arsenal have long been linked with a move for the player, who will arrive as a free agent after his contract at Chelsea expired. 

has stated that Arsenal will be handing Willian a deal worth an approximate £100,000-a-week.

If Arsenal are to secure the signature it will be their fourth deal of the summer. Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari have joined permanently after their respective loan deals whilst it is generally believed that Norwegian talent George Lewis has joined the Arsenal under-23s from Fram Larvik. 

have suggested that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is ready to deploy Willian in a more central playmaking role, similar to the position he played during his time at Shakhtar Donetsk and Anzhi Makhachkala. 

Whilst only arriving on a free, the wages Arsenal will be paying for the experienced Premier League star will take a huge chunk out of the Gunners transfer budget for the season and Arsenal will likely need to start selling players if any more recruitment is to be done. 

But Arsenal fans will be hoping that Willian, who showed excellent form for Chelsea after the Premier League restart, can prove to be a top addition for Mikel Arteta’s first-team.
