Report: Villa ‘at the table’ to sign midfielder who played in Champions League this season

that Aston Villa are ‘at the table’ and in talks with AS Roma over a move for midfielder Stev𓆉en Nzonzi, after first being linked with the French star last week.

Villa were linked with a move for 31-year-old midfielder Nzonzi earlier this week , who claimed that the France international is set to return to parent club Roma from loan side Galatasaray follow🌠ing a training-ground bust-up.

Indeed, Nzonzi has been ♕excluded from Gala’s mid-season training camp and now Villa are looking to sign the ex-Blackburn and Stoke midfielder, who cost Roma a whopping £27million in the summer of 2018 to sign from Sevilla.

Villa have already landed a midfielder this month in Danny Drinkwater on loan,♒ but with John McGinn injured, it is clear Dean Smith𝔉 wants another. Nzonzi, who has played five times in the Champions League this season, could be on his way to Villa.

TBR’s view – All depends on the price

Nzonzi is a top, top player. For🌠mer England boss Sam Allardyce has even been quoted by TalkSPORT as saying that Villa can ෴save themselves from releg⛎ation if they land the France international – suggesting he is better than McGinn.

Roma paid £27million but given he is out on loan and that he is 31, ౠthe Italian side will hardly ask fo🍰r such a fee. If Villa can agree a deal with the Italian giants for about £15million, then they are pulling off a coup.
