Report: Tottenham reject chance to sign Spain international

Ander Herrera and Danilo have both been rejected by Tottenham Hotspur as PSG continue to try and put together a deal that will lead to Tanguy Ndombele moving to the French capital, .

Ndombele looks set to be one of the players who could leave Spurs in the final days of the January transfer window. Foot Mercato reports that PSG, Everton and Valencia all want the Frenchman. And interestingly, they are all prepared to cover all of his wages.

Ndombele – who was once described as a ‘‘ player by Jose Mourinho – is not interested in joining Everton. He is open to moving to Valencia. But PSG is his priority. The problem is Mauricio Pochettino’s men are not able to complete a deal without moving players on.

And part of the issue is Tottenham have rejected all of the players offered in a potential swap.

They have been linked with Julian Draxler, Gini Wijnaldum and Leandro Paredes. two more names Spurs have snubbed.

They suggest that both Danilo and Herrera were offered.

Tottenham face tricky decision as PSG look to finalise Ndombele deal

Like Wijnaldum, Danilo and Herrera have been regular fixtures in Pochettino’s match-day squads without holding down a place in the side. They are both into double figures for Ligue 1 starts this season – but only just.

Herrera has been more influential this term. The former Manchester United man has scored three and provided two assists. Pochettino described him as a ‘‘ back in September.

Herrera did well during his time at Old Trafford. And his energetic style would lead some to suggest that he may suit Antonio Conte’s side.

But Tottenham have opted against a swap. Of course, Spurs may be wary of putting PSG off a move. A move to Everton does not appeal. And Valencia’s stance may also lead to stumbling blocks.

Foot Mercato suggests Layvin Kurzawa leaving Parc des Princes may help. But, perhaps worryingly, the report claims nothing is certain.
