Report: Tottenham agree deal to sign ‘powerful’ attacking talent on ‘hugely attractive’ offer
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly agreed a £2million deal to sign Sheffield United talent Will Lankshear.
Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas broke the news on Twitter, also providing a link to the Transfer Centre feed.
Tottenham apparently blew Brentford “out of the water” with a “hugely attractive offer” for Lankshear.
Tottenham have snapped up a player that bitter rivals Arsenal let go just last summer.
Lankshear linked up with the Blades in January and quickly made a name for himself in the South Yorkshire club’s academy.
According to the SUFC , the 17-year-old ‘became an instant hit before even starting his scholarship.
‘Scoring goals regularly, the powerful forward took his form into the new season and even took to U23s level with ease, before an injury setback stopped his good early season form.’
According to , Tottenham will pay United a guaranteed £1million plus a further £1m in performance-related bonuses.
Brentford had reportedly been tracking Lankshear for some time, believing him to have huge potential.
Indeed, the Bees apparently believed they had a deal to sign him before Spurs’ late intervention.
Lankshear had a year left on his scholarship terms at Bramall Lane.
And as per Sky Sports, he had been ‘banging in goals since his arrival’, including for United’s Under-23s.

Tottenham planning for the future as well as the present – TBR View
Spurs’ current transfer policy under Fabio Paratici has been nothing short of sensational.
Tottenham have certainly made standout first-team signings, but their eye on the future has also been impressive.
Last season, Spurs snapped up Pape Matar Sarr, who looks like he could become a superstar.
Earlier this summer, meanwhile, Tottenham bought Destiny Udogie, another player with immense potential.
And now, Spurs are now reportedly on the verge of signing another highly-rated youngster in Lankshear.
Better still, he’s one who Arsenal let go, so if he prospers at N17, Spurs fans will be sure to remind their rivals about it.
