Report: Swansea want £18m for Andre Ayew; recently linked with Leeds

Any hopes some Leeds United fans may have had of Marcelo Bielsa’s side signing Andre Ayew appear to have been dashed, Swansea City’s asking price for the striker.

that Lꦚeeds were preparing an offer for the 30-year-old, who has scored 10 Championship goals this season.

Ayew worked with Bielsa at Marsei🎃lle. Nevertheless, with the Whites yet to make a permanent addition to their first-team squad since January 20𝔉19, it was difficult to imagine that the promotion-chasers had a genuine chance to land his signature.

A loan move is surely out of the question. Swansea have their own promotion hopes so will not want to lose their 🔯t🔜op goalscorer unless they receive an eye-watering offer.

And it turns out that any offer would need to be wor💦th £18 million to be deemed eye-watering, that that is the Swans’ asking price for th🍸e Ghana international.

It must be🍷 noted that The Sun on Sunday do not name any clubs who may be interested in Ayew. So it remains to be seen if any of the sides who have been linked previously do make any attempt to land the forward before the deadline.

TBR View – Leeds move out of the question with £18m asking price

It will hardly be a h🅘ot take to suggest that Swansea’s asking pr🐓ice rules Leeds out of the running for his signature.

Even if the Whites have been or are currently interested, it would take a dramatic change in strategy for Leeds to make a bid that comes close🅠 to the Swans’ reported valuation.

It looks to be a safe bet to assume that Ayew will remain at the Liberty Stadium be꧟yond this month if his asking price is indeed £18 million.

Leeds fa⛎ns would certainly be forgiven for writing off any remaining hope they may have had following the i🌼nitial reports last month.
